Anne Van Dam has won the ActewAGL Canberra Classic by 3 shots from Katja Pogacar. Van Dam blew the field away finishing eagle, birdie, par, birdie to win her 4th LET title. This is Van Dam's 3rd title in 6 months after winning 2 tournaments back to back at the end of last year.

Heading into the final round it was Katja Pogacar from Slovenia who had the lead. However, she couldn't keep up with Van Dam and finished 3 shots back. It is her best ever finish on the LET. Finishing 3rd was Korean Jiyai Shin. Shin, the defending champion and former world number 1 had rounds of 69,64 and 67 to finsih 1 shot behind Pogacar.

After her victory Van Dam said “It gave me so much confidence that I knew I could birdie every hole here. I just had to stay patient, trust my long game and I was really happy with the way I putted. “I’ve hit a lot of golf balls over the past couple of months and, with my coach Dave, we’ve been working on my swing, so I’m really happy with it right now.”

Pogacar, who is ranked 723rd in the world is sure to rise a few places after this performance, afterwards she said, “It was my first time playing in the last group in front of a large gallery, which was different and a great experience…and I loved it.“I’m so happy to have performed under the pressure. It was a little shaky in the beginning but I finished strongly…which will give me a lot of confidence for the whole season.”

There was also a welcome return to form for Scot Carly Booth who had not finished higher than 55th this season so far. She had rounds of 67,65 and 70 to finish in 4th place, 2 shots behind Shin.

Marianne Skarpnord from Norway continued her good form finishing 24th and maintaining her lead on the Order of Merit after 3 tournaments.
